The 2013 TCSA conference was held in Ft. Worth (October 27-30). It marked the association's 18th annual conference.

Leighton Isles, Tarrant County CSCD's Director, and Bennie Medlin, Tarrant County Juvenile Services' Assistant Director, welcomed TCSA to Ft. Worth.

Conference highlights were:

-Associate Judge Ellen Smith's (383rd District Court) insightful keynote address on the value and benefits of community service.
-Critical updates from the 83rd Legislative Session by Todd Jermstad, Director of Bell/Lampasas Counties CSCD, and ADA Riley Shaw, Tarrant County Juvenile Section Chief.
-Invaluable workshop by Nydia Thomas, Special Counsel for TJJD, on liability issues pertaining to community service programs.
-Informative and entertaining session on leadership and fear by luncheon speaker, Dr. Joe Serio. He also played a pretty good harmonica.
-Jacinto Ramos' interactive session on multiculturalism. The latter is Tarrant County Juvenile Services' CSR Supervisor.

Of course, there were many more presenters who helped round out the conference and to whom we are very appreciative. Without their support this conference would not have been realized.
