2015 CONFERENCE

I would like to take this time to reflect on the 20th Annual Texas Community Service Association Conference that was held on November 8th-11th, at the Inn on Barons Creek in Fredericksburg, Texas. TCSA board member and former President, Domingo Sanchez, did a amazing job at chairing this conference and had the wonderful support of his community. The board and I were pleased with the outcome of this conference. We had excellent speakers who shared their knowledge and expertise as well as demonstrating the importance of Community Service. We also had a wonderful crowd that was willing to share their thoughts and ideas. We were very excited to see some new faces and to see so many attendees excited to take back some ideas to share with their community. Kirsta Melton with the Attorney General’s Office, served as speaker during the conference luncheon which was catered by August E’s Fine Dining. TCSA donated canned goods that were brought by our members and a cash donation was made in the amount of $500 to the Fredericksburg Food Pantry. TCSA is all about Collaboration and helping out the Community and Educating our youth by making them aware of Resources within their community! At our Fredericksburg Conference, we had three new board members join TCSA. Clint Emerson from Cherokee County CSCD, Mandi Jakubowski from Guadalupe County Juvenile Probation, and Vanessa Vasquez from Bexar County Juvenile Probation. The current board members were re-elected at this time to continue to serve on the board; Lonnie Rogers from Burnet County CSCD/33rd & 424th Judicial Districts Intermediate Sanction Facility and Brenda Garcia from Victoria County Juvenile Probation.
